Turkey day weekend parties for DC & B-More

Thanksgiving night
  • If you’re looking for good music, head to Recess Lounge (727 15th Street NW) on Thanksgiving night for “Soul Baby“. DJ Jahsonic will be spinning old school Hip-Hop, Classic Soul, Break Beats, and Reggae. There’s no cover. Doors open at 9 p.m.
  • Wale is performing at Ibiza Nightclub (1222 1st ST NE) on Thanksgiving night. Tickets start at $5.
  • Need a spot to go to for Thanksgiving dinner? Don’t fret! Join your extended-extended family at Buddha-Bar DC (455 Massachusetts Ave. NW) for an alternative dinner. From 5:30 – 11:59 p.m., enjoy a three-course Thanksgiving dinner menu infusing traditional fare with their signature Asian-fusion influence. The bar and lounge are open until 2 a.m. Tickets are $75/person.
  • Shadow Room (2131 K Street NW) will host it’s weekly Thursday night party.

Friday, Nov. 26

  • Local rapper Tabi Bonney is celebrating his album release at (727 15th Street NW).
  • To kick-off the Thanksgiving weekend, up-and-coming Hip-Hop talents, Phil Ade and Levelz will be performing at Liv Nightclub (2001 11th Street NW) at the “DC Diaspora” concert. Tickets are $20.

When you’ve finished eating all that Turkey and watching the Beyonce concert:):):):) , head down to the city’s biggest party at Select Lounge (415 N. Paca). Every top promotional team including Events 4 Good People, The Flywire, DeJuan DHov Events Team, and way too many to name are hosting. Music by D.J. Spontaneous.

Are you a fan of the Bad Girls Club? If yes, be sure to party with four of the ladies at Milan (1000 Eastern Ave.) D.J. Infame and D.J. PChris on the 1′s and 2′s.

Patron presents “Black Wallstreet” at the Patterson (3134 Eastern Avenue). This semi-formal casino style event promises to be like nothing the city has ever seen. Music by D.J. Infame.

If you’re a fan of Baltimore’s a original club scene and miss old school club music, head down to Sonar (407 E. Saratoga) for the Baltimore Club Reunion. Beware this is a 25 and over event:) Kenny K., Mike Crosby, Tanz, and many more hosting.

The Smithsonian National Museum of African Art Fundrasier


The Smithsonian National Museum of African Art and the Sanaa Circle, a volunteer group that supports the museum, will host a reception fundraiser for Dr. Johnetta Cole, celebrating her first year as Director of the museum, Thursday, November 18, 2010 from 7-10 pm.
